Though popular, online dating sites are kind of creepy

Over the past few years, online dating has become a very popular way to meet new people. It is a new thing to meet people without meeting face to face, or at least not right away. Internet dating has also become one of the most successful business ventures, according to Wisegeek.

A few reflections in my last regular column

I've written op-ed pieces for The Chronicle on an as-needed basis for two years now. This one may well be my last. As this is the last issue of the '05-'06 academic year, it certainly would be fitting.

Next year, Ryan Peters and I, as co-editors-in-chief, will contribute to writing editorials, like the ones in every major newspaper across the country, but I don't think it's appropriate to regularly publish one's personal views in a paper for which one holds such a leadership position.

Artist Uses U.S. Army's Video Game To Make A Statement

If the need ever arose for a full-scale digital war, we'd certainly be prepared. America's Army, a free, downloadable online video game, has more than seven million registered recruits to date. The game, produced and developed by the U.S. Army, puts players in the boots of the modern American warrior; and more so than most run-of-the-mill military "shooter" games, AA is centered around representing the training, methods, and tactics of a soldier in the US Army.

For as small as North Central is, I really don't think there should be a reason that people aren't more involved. Although I still have a term left to finish in my undergraduate career at North Central, I find myself reflecting as if I'm graduating in two weeks.

Up: Disproving long-held scientific beliefs: Lithuanian police reported to the Associated Press this week their astonishment at having arrested a man whose blood alcohol limit was a whopping 18 times the legal limit. You heard me right; after multiple tests, Vidmantas Sungaila's blood alcohol was officially recorded at 7.
